Shocking Video Reveals Instant Police Suffer Blade Attacks in Surprise Attack
A senior officer who rushed to the aid of a partner that was assaulted by a blade-wielder received the King's Commendation for Valor.
Sgt Tim Ansell fought with twenty-seven-year-old Jacob Brown following he pressed a weapon to the neck of his partner Sergeant Marc Foster.
Brown initiated the assault as the law enforcement personnel and their third officer, PC Marcus Wolstencroft, were speaking to a motorist subsequent to a vehicle incident in Whalley Range in July 2023.
Brown attacked with blade the two Sergeant Ansell and Sgt Foster prior to PC Wolstencroft incapacitated him with a Taser.
"Officer stabbed," the constable stated over his radio.
Officer-mounted and dashcam recording made public by the force showed Brown, who was dressed in dark clothing with a hood up, approach to Sergeant Foster from the rear with a weapon extended.
He struck the officer who tripped and dropped to the ground, after which Sgt Ansell jumped in and tried to wrestle him to the ground even though being continually attacked with the weapon.
Police Constable Wolstencroft pulled his stun gun and waited for a safe opportunity, concluding the fight to an conclusion.
Sgt Ansell stated audibly: "I need something on my throat now, I got knifed in the throat."
Sgt Ansell suffered multiple lacerations to his throat and more wounds to his limbs and torso, while Sergeant Foster received knife wounds.
Officials said Sgt Foster employed his hands to stop his colleague's bleeding prior to emergency responders arrived.
The new honor arrives after the three officers were granted departmental Courage Honors in fall 2023 and the prestigious bravery honor from the regional Police Federation in April 2024.
They further earned a Regional Valor Recognition in July 2024.
"The responses of the entire team in the end rescued themselves and resulted in no bystanders experienced any harm."
Brown was sentenced to an indefinite hospital order in April 2024, as stated by officials.
