A Pair of Suspects Charged with Jail Killing of Ex-Lostprophets Vocalist Ian Watkins

A pair of suspects stand accused of murder following the death in prison of former Lostprophets singer and convicted child sex offender Ian Watkins.

The two men, Rashid Gedel (25) and Samuel Dodsworth (43) now face murder accusations and will appear before Leeds magistrates’ court on Monday morning, per law enforcement officials.

Watkins, forty-eight, was in the midst of a 29-year prison term at HMP Wakefield, with a further six years to be served on licence, after pleading guilty to multiple sexual crimes among them the attempted rape of a baby.

Watkins was arrested after the execution of a substance-related warrant at his Pontypridd home on 21 September 2012, when a substantial collection of electronic devices including computers, phones and drives were confiscated.
